► ABOUT THE PRODUCT

AMT SOW PS DC-18V 1x500mA — galvanically isolated from the primary power supply module is designed to power 18-volt guitar pedals consuming max 500mA such as AMT Electronics devices:

The use of galvanically isolated voltages prevents current loops and thus ensures the best performance in sound quality due to elimination of mains interference.

The polarity of the power module: minus on the inside, plus on the outside.

This power supply is also suitable for other 18-volt pedals with current consumption of less than 500 mA with the same polarity. 

The device is powered from:

  • the AMT SOW PS ACDC-18V primary power module;
  • an external adapter with an output voltage of 12-18V and current not less than consumed by all connected to it pedals. 

The advantage of this power module is that when it is used in conjunction with other modular units, it eliminates the need for different voltages and different current consumption. The application of this series module is important for powering pedal boards.

The power supply modules are assembled into a single structure without additional cables and fixtures using the built-in connectors and mechanical locks.

The module’s distinctive feature is that it has paralleled outputs which are set on the opposite module’s sides. It helps to achieve easier commutation. 

 IMPORTANT TO KNOW 

OUT: OUT A + OUT A' = 500mA

For example:

OUT А [guitar pedal that consumes 150 mA] + OUT А’ [guitar pedal that consumes 340 mA] = 150 mA + 340 mA = 490 mA

As we can see, that's ok as under the amperage requirements for the «OUT» output group.

► HOW TO USE

  1. Decide how many different voltages, number of outputs and what kind of the output current you need for all your pedals.
  2. According to this information, just choose and connect all different SOW power modules among themselves into a single whole «power supply panel» easily.
  3. Using primary power module AMT SOW PS ACDC-18V (or any other external DC 12-18V power adapter with sufficient current, voltage, and polarity) connect your resulting SOW power panel to the electrical outlet (you'll only need one!).

 IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE POWER SUPPLY 

For powering the AMT devices always use specialized power supplies originally designed for guitar pedals & gear meeting the following basic requirements:

Please, don't try to use for these purposes the usual cheapest power supply from household appliances and electronics, like from your laptop, Wi-Fi router, etc.! Such power supplies have a reverse polarity compared to AMT devices, so it won't work! Even if you're «the guy was born with a soldering iron in the hand» and almost ready to change a polarity of such power supply — we strongly not recommend you do that!

Those kinds of power supplies are not intended for using with the guitar gear. Otherwise, you'll get a problematic very noisy guitar sound full of «hum», «cheep», and other sound «effects»!
