INTRODUCTION
With the help of the AMT PANGAEA CP-100FX, you will be able to create a high-quality sound emulation of any guitar cabinet by loading appropriate WAV Impulse Responses (IRs) of guitar cabinets.
It is possible to store up to 99 presets into the internal memory of this device with different IRs together with built-in guitar effects processor.
The AMT PANGAEA CP-100FX is not just an impulse guitar cabinet emulator integrated with an effects' processor: the CP-100FX is a flexibly adjustable tool both for professional actively touring guitar players and also for those who are just starting their creative career.
► ABOUT THE PRODUCT
You can find a lot of different WAV IRs on the Web (both paid and free). In the CP-100FX internal memory, you may load up to 99 WAV IRs to use anyone you want when playing guitar.
When connecting CP-100FX to a computer via USB data cable (USB TYPE B → USB TYPE A), the device is seen on the computer as a regular USB Flash drive. Here you can update a firmware, presets, make a backup of all your CP-100FX, etc. — just like if you were working with a regular Flash Drive.
The logically predictable interface of the AMT PANGAEA CP-100FX, controllable with the help of an OLED display and knobs, makes this device's operation convenient and comfortable.
► THERE ARE TWO MAIN MODES OF OPERATION WITH IRS
-
MODE 1: Loading of one mono WAV IR with the following parameters:
- IR file’s type: WAV, 24-bit / 48 kHz, mono
- IR file truncation: 170.75 ms (8192 samples)
- Latency: 1.5 ms
-
MODE 2: Separate loading of two mono WAV IRs with the same parameters as in MODE 1 adjustable for volume and pan:
- IR file’s type: WAV, 24-bit / 48 kHz, mono
- IR file truncation: 170.75 ms (8192 samples)
- Latency: 1.8 ms
► MAIN FEATURES OF THE CP-100FX
- You can load up to 99 different Guitar Cabinets’ IRs in the device's memory and choose the desired one at the right moment.
- You can load IRs in the CP-100FX memory and control their parameters directly on its screen.
-
Using «THRU» output — you can pass the signal (without breaking signal integrity) from your tube power amplifier through the CP-100FX to a guitar cabinet*, and in parallel at the same time you can process the signal by the WAV IR and send the signal directly to the input of your mixer / sound card / studio speakers or monitors / headphones, etc. This will let you play without a mic set near a guitar cabinet.
* You can replace a guitar cabinet with a load equivalent (for example AMT Power Eater PE-120) and use only a broadband sound system, headphones, mixer, or your sound card for recording. -
External guitar amplifiers till 150W could be used together with the CP-100 thanks to the attenuator built-in the CP-100FX.
ATTENTION! IMPORTANT! The CP-100FX is not a load equivalent, not in any form! While connecting a tube amplifier (with a tube power amp) to the CP-100FX, you must use a real guitar cabinet or a special load box as the load equivalent!
- You may exclude even a tube power amplifier from your guitar chain equipment at all! In this case, you have to send the signal directly from your preamp output into the CP-100FX input (choosing suitable WAV IR) and use headphones / mixer / sound card, etc.
- In the special CP-100FX input «AUX IN» you can put some external source of a sound signal (for example, an MP3 player / your smartphone) and play along with a phonogram selected by you. That's perfect for the independent practice!

► EXTRA FEATURES OF THE CP-100FX
- In the AMT PANGAEA CP-100FX all WAV IRs files are loaded from Micro SD card.
- The device has a built-in file browser, which allows to «walk around» your Micro SD card and listen to WAV IR sounds in real time. In the meantime, all WAV IRs files are stored on the device's internal memory, in a particular preset — including settings for FX effects.
- Every preset has 32 controllers. So you can designate 32 key parameters (loudness, modulation rate, on/off parameters, etc.), which can be configured for any MIDI controller (or for an external expression pedal, for which there is a plug connector). Therefore, you have a possibility to control 32 parameters in a single preset in real time.
- The expression pedal can be calibrated.
- The CP-100FX has a master volume and a three-band master equalizer, for volume and tone corrections in each particular case. The master equalizer can be switched off.
- On the side panel, there is a S/PDIF output connector with two choices of output signal — master output or dry output (direct output from ADC).

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE POWER SUPPLY
For powering the AMT devices always use specialized power supplies originally designed for guitar pedals & gear meeting the following basic requirements:
Please, don't try to use for these purposes the usual cheapest power supply from household appliances and electronics, like from your laptop, Wi-Fi router, etc.! Such power supplies have a reverse polarity compared to AMT devices, so it won't work! Even if you're «the guy was born with a soldering iron in the hand» and almost ready to change a polarity of such power supply — we strongly not recommend you do that!
Those kinds of power supplies are not intended for using with the guitar gear. Otherwise, you'll get a problematic very noisy guitar sound full of «hum», «cheep», and other sound «effects»!
